Elderberry Rosé French 75

3 self’lovin’ cocktails you need this summer

Recipes

hot summer sun and patio fun with friends requires a (few) chilled summer cocktails!

these are my top 3 to keep on hand.

#1 Elderberry Rosé French 75

The French 75 is by far my most favourite go-to fancy drink. I feel special when I order it and I feel magical when I make it at home for myself and my friends. This is a fancy version of it!

♥ 30 ml gin

♥ 15 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

♥ 10 ml elderflower syrup

♥ Rosé champagne

Add all ingredients except the champagne into a shaker over ice, shake, strain into a champagne glass and top up with the rosé champagne.

#2 Lavender Rosé Slush

If you don’t love Rosé I don’t think we can be friends… jk

but for real! this is a solid go-to for any patio party in the sun with my friends.

♥ 50ml lavender syrup

♥ Bottle of Rosé

Using a freezer-safe pan, add the bottle of Rose and syrup along with some dried rose petals and lavender flowers, stir gently. Place the pan in the freezer for about 4-6 hours. Once frozen, scoop the slush with an ice cream scoop and fill up your sugar-rimmed glasses!

#3 Summery Rhubarb French 75

do you know me yet? Cause if you don’t… I love a fancy French 75. Here’s another version that goes perf on a hot summer night!

♥ 45 ml gin

♥ 20 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

♥ 15 ml rhubarb syrup

♥ Champagne

Pour the first 3 ingredients into a shaker over ice, shake vigorously and strain into a fancy-schmancy glass. Top up with champagne.

Basic Simple Syrup Recipe

Many of my drink recipes call for simple syrup. This is simple to buy but just as simple to make!

♥ Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup filtered water in a small saucepan and bring to a low boil (to produce a flavour, add a few drops of the fruit, herb or extract here)

♥ Simmer and stir until the mixture thickens and the sugar is completely dissolved.

♥ Turn the heat off and let your simple syrup come to a complete cool (this can keep in the fridge for a week or so)

what are you going to try first?
